Correcting site records
How wrong daily logs and workers sheets are corrected or deleted, who may do it, and how the corrections record keeps the old version with a reason.
On this page
Site records are evidence, so Konkat does not let anyone quietly change them. A wrong daily log or workers sheet can be corrected or deleted only by the project owner, or by someone the owner allowed, and only with a reason. A copy of what the entry said before is kept in the corrections record.
What counts as a correction#
| Change | Who can do it | Reason needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Edit your own daily log on the same day | The person who logged it | No — this is a normal edit |
| Edit someone else’s daily log, or any log from an earlier day | Project owner, or people with Can correct logs | Yes |
| Delete a daily log (snapshot or end-of-day) | Project owner, or people with Can correct logs | Yes |
| Change today’s Workers sheet | Anyone who can fill daily logs | No |
| Change a Workers sheet of an earlier day | Project owner, or people with Can correct logs | Yes |
| Delete a day’s Workers sheet | Project owner, or people with Can correct logs | Yes |
Everyone else sees an earlier day’s sheet as locked: “This day’s sheet is already saved. Only the project owner, or someone the owner allowed, can change an earlier day.”
Allowing someone to correct logs#
- Open Project setup → Team — you must be an Owner on this project.
- Tick Can correct logs — in the row of the person, for example your senior engineer Suresh Reddy.
Owners can always correct. Only an owner can give or take away Can correct logs; for everyone else the box is greyed out.
Correcting a daily log#
- Find the entry — in the Site logbook or on the task page.
- Click Correct — the Daily log screen opens with the entry filled in and the heading “Correcting a snapshot” (or “an end-of-day summary”).
- Fix what is wrong — areas, notes, crew, material used, remarks or photos.
- Give the reason — in Reason for the correction, e.g. “Logged 3rd floor instead of 4th”.
- Click Save changes — Konkat shows “Correction saved”.
If you change the material used, the stock taken from the site store is changed to match.
Deleting a daily log or workers sheet#
- Click Delete — in the logbook under the entry, or Delete this entry while correcting a log, or Delete this day’s sheet on the Workers sheet.
- Answer “Why is it being deleted?” — for example “Logged against the wrong task”. The box cannot be left empty.
- Confirm with Delete — Konkat shows “Deleted — kept in the corrections record”.
Deleting a daily log also removes its photos and gives back the material it took from the site store. If it was the task’s only log that day, the day is taken off the task’s used days.
The corrections record#
Every correction and deletion is saved with the project, the task, the date of the original entry, who changed it, when, the reason and a plain-text copy of what the entry said before. It shows up in the Site logbook as an entry such as:
- Corrected: daily log · AAC blockwork — entry of 10 Oct · who and when
- Deleted: workers sheet — with the reason
Click Show what it said before to read the old version. Corrections cannot be edited or removed from the app.
Corrections are listed in the logbook for the whole site, so they are hidden when you filter the logbook by floor or flat. Clear those filters to see them.
Other records#
Other mistakes are fixed in their own screens. Progress taps are undone by marking the floor or flat again (a done task can be reopened). A wrong stock movement is cancelled with a reason under Stock → Movements. QC entries and complaints keep their full trail.
Common questions#
Why can’t I edit yesterday’s log I made myself?#
After the day is over, any change is a correction. Ask the owner, or someone with Can correct logs, to correct it.
Can the owner delete a correction?#
No. The record stays with the project so nobody can hide a change.
