Notifications

The bell at the top of every screen: what Konkat tells you about, who gets each notice, and how to open and clear them.

Konkat tells you when something needs your attention — a sign-off, a QC concern to fix, a material request to approve, a complaint assigned to you. Notices appear under the bell at the top right of every screen.

The bell#

The bell is at the top right on both computer and phone. A red number on it shows how many unread notices you have (13 in the screenshots of Sunrise Residency). Konkat checks for new notices every minute while the app is open.

  1. Tap the bell — a list opens with the newest notice first and the date and time of each. Unread ones are highlighted.
  2. Tap a notice — it is marked as read and Konkat opens the right screen: the QC entry, the Sign-off list, the task, Stock → Requests or your complaints.
  3. Mark all read — clears the red number without opening each one.

The list shows your latest 30 notices. When there is nothing, it says “Nothing new.”

The daily materials reminder#

Once a day Konkat looks at every project that is not marked Completed. For each task that has not started, starts within the project’s Material reminder period (Project setup → Details, 5 days by default) and still has unconfirmed materials, it sends the “Confirm materials” and “Heads-up” notices — at most once a day per task. The same tasks show on the dashboard under Material alerts.

The daily reminder runs on the server’s scheduler. If nobody ever receives these notices, ask your administrator to check that the scheduler is enabled — see Installing Konkat.

Making sure the right people are notified#

  • Sign-off — name the people on the task form under Needs sign-off, or tick Can sign off for them on the Team.
  • Materials — tick Confirms materials on the Team for your storekeeper or engineer.
  • Approvals — give the approver a role that includes Approve material requests.

Email and phone alerts#

Notices are shown inside Konkat only. They are not sent by email, SMS or WhatsApp, and there are no phone push alerts. Open the app (or keep it installed on your phone’s home screen) and check the bell, or look at the yellow chips on the dashboard.

Common questions#

The red number doesn’t go away.#

Tap Mark all read. If you are offline, the bell cannot update until the connection is back.

I approved a request but didn’t get a notice myself.#

That’s expected. The “approved / rejected” notice goes to the person who asked for the material, not to the approver.
